The thief who stole Jose Ruiz’s Chevy Tahoe at gunpoint was caught thanks to OnStar and Stolen Vehicle Slowdown.

“While on vacation 1200 miles away from home, we opened our monthly diagnostics email to alert us that our rear passanger side tire pressure had decreased to 26 psi. We had just had the tires rotated before leaving on our trip therefore, we knew something was wrong.”

In June of 2008 I had to travel to Bloomington, Minnesota for a business trip, I decided that I and a friend would drive so I set my OnStar Turn-by-Turn Navigation system and hit the road. As you may know around this time severe weather across the country produced floods that destroyed homes and closed many roads in the Wisconsin area, directly in my navigation route unknown to me at the time.

Jose Ruiz is proud of his Chevy Tahoe. One night, as he and his cousin were sitting in the truck, a stranger with a shotgun demanded Jose’s Tahoe along with their wallets.
