Cher Gillespie’s Story
“I’ve only had my Acadia for 8 months and I never thought I would use the emergency button. But on our way home from downtown on a rainy night in Denver, my 13 month old nephew had a seizure in the backseat.
We were just approaching the infamous highway “mousetrap” interchange from I-25 to I-70. With no way off the highway, and nowhere close to a hospital, we knew we needed to pull over and have an ambulance come to us. I pushed the emergency button and OnStar came on right away, patched us thru to 911 and even pinpointed that we were just leaving northbound I-25 and were currently stopped on the I-70 eastbound flyover.
Within minutes, the ambulance was there. Our OnStar advisor stayed on the line with us the whole time. Everything went so smoothly. I could’ve used my cell phone but I knew that it would’ve been hard to explain to 911 exactly where I was on the highway. But OnStar led them right to us.
Thank you OnStar for helping us in our time of need. My nephew is doing great. It was comforting to know I had OnStar, but when I actually had to use it after having my car for such a short period of time, I could never buy another car without it.”
