Thanks for all the suggestions we are always looking at ways to improve our service.

@xmcanadian - The phone number of the person calling you will be displayed if your Impala is equipped with the required radio. Which model do you have? It is a 2009, correct?

Christopher you're a wee bit late.. I made that suggestion like 6-7 months ago and it's already a feature on their upcoming OnStar app. Lets just hope they bring that application to other vehicles shortly after the Volt!

I love my Onstar and I have the Directions service. What I would like to see from Onstar:

-Volt iPhone app that includes other vehicles besides the Volt (2009 Impala)

-Mapquest expanded to Canadian market with Directions service

-Virtual Advisor also in Canadian market

-When I place a call using OnStar it tells me the number I am going to be calling on the screen I would like to see the number of the person calling me show on the screen. Since I call forward my cell phone to my OnStar because using a cell phone here is illegal.

I love OnStar I have had it for almost a year and its the greatest service.

Thanks for taking interest in our suggestion in making the service greater

Just a thought, many people pay to have aftermarket remote start installed in their vehicle myself included. I know OnStar can disable the engine in a stolen vehicle situation, can they make it start too? Maybe make it where it can be done with a application on any cell phone with capability to download applications.

Pro:
*Unlimited range to start car
*Nothing aftermarket added to vehicle
*Possibly include charge in standard fee

Con:
*Increase volume of calls OnStar Centers

Just thinking out loud. Thanks for listening.

I suggest improving customer service to serve the customer wholly--from end to end. When OnStar works, it's great. But when it fails and technical assistance is called in, it requires talking with at least two people, holding for 15-20 minutes and then not reaching a solution. Whether by phone or by email, OnStart has repeatedly failed to contact me to give a status update as promised and has failed to resolve the problem within its prescribed timeframe of 3-5 days.

I was driving my 2008 Envoy and the stabletrak light popped on then stayed on. I pressed the blue button and requested a diagnostic report and advised the advisor of the indicator light. The blue star advisor happily ran the report which showed a possible faulty steering wheel sensor. The advisor then contacted my preferred dealership and advised them of what the report showed. Then the advisor put me in direct contact with the service department to set an appointment for repair. The sensor was the problem and replaced the next morning. Thank you OnStar!

This past Saturday, my sister and I attempted to make the show again. My sister drove to my house and we got in my car that is equipped with OnStar. I am happy to say that we made it on time to the theater to see Avatar, thanks to OnStar! I know that I can trust the directions from OnStar as opposed to the Garmin. We liked the movie but didn't know it was going to be 3 hours long!

My sister picked me up to go see Avatar at a theather we have never been to. It should have been a 20 min trip, after 45 min she pulled out her Garmin and put in the theather. We ended up at the wrong theather and missed the movie. I am driving next Saturday because I have OnStar and with OnStar I don't get lost.

My scariest situation in a car happened in September 2008. I was about the exit off the freeway with my 2 year old son in the backseat. We were in a Chevy Malibu not equipped with OnStar. Traffic was backing up in the exit lane, and I began to slow down. The Truck in front of me stopped hard. I stopped as well and did not hit the truck. However the Envoy behind me slammed into my trunk, which then forced my car to hit the truck in front of me, and then the truck hit a mini-van. The air bags went, off, which was a scary thing to happen. I was sandwiched in and could not get out of the driver side door. I had to get out on the passenger side door to get to my son. We were both ok, just sustained a few bumps and bruises.
There must have been an angel with us, because the car was totaled, yet the inside kept us protected. My cell phone had died and a bystander let me use it to call my husband.
We now have OnStar on our car, in case another situation happens again.

My Scariest Story was I got T-Boned Blind Sided by an Uninsured Unregistered Driver. As She hit me I proceded to crash through a fence in Cape Cod. Me and my Passenger Banged Heads and everything seemed like it was in Slow Motion.... We were OK in my Oldsmobile But the Peeps who hit me went flying through the windsheild of their car...
They had many Injuries...

I sometimes use the Virtual Advisor to give me information about a couple of saved routes that I frequently drive. I have noticed that the information about wrecks and delays along those routes is sometimes a bit old. It also will say something like "Estimated delay is" but then offers no time. I don't currently have the Directions & Connections plan, and really don't need it. But I would LOVE to have accurate, timely information about wrecks, traffic jams, and delays. XM is helpful on this as well, but not always as specific as one might like.

P.S. Can I have a travel mug? :-)

Love it but there's always room for improvement! All of the above suggestions are on the mark! Having Onstar in portable format would be great. I do not use Nav much so I cannot comment in depth.
As far as hands-free calling...it's wonderful and so much safer than cell! But, the minutes should roll over and there could be a bonus feature for those of us who use minutes more frequently. Of course, it needs to be more reasonable price-wise as the minutes are expensive compared to cell minutes.
My last suggestion would be to improve the voice recognition system. I ahve learned that if I speak sharply and quickly, it comprehends. But, if I use my normal tone, it cuts me off.
Overall, am very happy with it and would not purchase a vehicle without it!

Onstar is a great service, its my 2nd or 3rd year with the service, wouldn't go without it on my Sierra. I had a problem with my boat trailers wheel bearing seizing up after the shop used the wrong grease on the wheels. A quick call to onstar and I had the names and numbers of the closest trailer repair shops and tow truck. Nice work.

Love my OnStar!!!!
I have mainly used it for turn by turn navigation. But, it also gives me a sense of security knowing it's there in an emergency, if I lock myself out, etc.

I loved the turn by turn navigation, I loved knowing that if I got locked out or couldn't remember where I parked in a big parking lot all I had to do was call and get a signal sent and voila... I also felt safe in the knowing that if... IF... I got into an accident, OnStar would get a signal and send emergency services... My car was totaled on January 9th 2010... even though the OnStar did not connect, and I was explained why, I still believe in OnStar!

I would also like one of those free mugs. I just recently bought a vehicle that had to have the OnStar updated,I have updated 3 vans now. This is how much I love my OnStar and when I had my wreck OnStar was there for me. I would like to get a free trial of those turn by turn directions when we go on vacation. Thanks for everythig OnStar!

I was driving up the Garden State Pky when I blew a tire on my Camper. The Onstar advisor was able to guide me to the nearest tire store that stocked my specific tire size. The dealer put on the new tires while we had lunch. Continued on our journey losing only about an hour and a half.
