OnStar Connections

"Crisis Assist" – Barbara Pompa

In late January, 2010, while en route to visit family in Florida my husband experienced dizziness, nausea and heavy sweating while in the passenger seat. I was driving and pulled off Interstate 95 in an exit south of Manning, S.C.  Afraid he may be dealing with a heart attack, I pressed the “OnStar” emergency button and received prompt response from an advisor.  She contacted a local hospital/ambulance and stayed with me on the phone until they arrived about 12 minutes later.

My husband was placed in the ambulance and I followed to the hospital.  He spent about 4 hours in the emergency room being tested and was then released with a diagnosis of Vertigo (inner ear infection).  I was so thankful we had “OnStar” activated in our vehicle.  It certainly put my mind at ease knowing that we were being helped with a service that knew exactly what to do. Aside from being upset with our situation, I was relieved that our location could be pinpointed and that safe help would be there  to assist.  In telling our story to others, I was certain to include my gratitude for having “OnStar”. I would not want a vehicle without it!!!”
