“I knew it was time to press that red button.”
Brian Fish had just met with a customer. He’s a sales rep for an auto supplier and is on road the a lot.
It was a warm day and he had just carried several heavy boxes out to his car. When he started driving, he felt a bit flushed. Then it got a little scarier.
“I had some numbness in my arm and my hand. I pulled off the road. I didn’t know what to think. I was sure something was wrong. Then I looked up and saw my OnStar button. I knew it was time to press that red emergency button that I’d been looking at all these years and never thought I was going to need.
“The Advisor knew my exact location better than I did — I thought I was near an intersection that was actually more than a mile away. The emergency crew found me right away and didn’t have to waste precious time driving around.”
Thankfully, Brian, who’s married and the father of two little girls, is fine. It turned out he didn’t have a heart attack — his symptoms were most likely brought on by stress. But it was an experience he won’t soon forget.
“If there’s anything I could say to someone who might be in a similar situation, it would be, ‘Don’t hesitate to reach up and press that emergency button.’ I’m glad it was there.”
