Be a Good Samaritan

smalley_128x128

Lonita Smalley was driving home from work one rainy night when she came upon a bad crash that had happened only moments earlier. A car had hit a power pole and its occupants — five teenagers — were dazed and injured.

“They were really scared and calling for help. I pushed the red OnStar emergency button and an Advisor answered immediately. She knew my exact location — which was a blessing especially considering the back road I was on — and patched me through to the police. I knew help would be sent right away and I felt really good that I could do something. I will never own a vehicle without OnStar. It’s such a comfort to know I always have somebody there with me if I need help.”

I once witnessed a head on collision on M-59 near 1-75 in Michigan. It was a terrible accident – I pushed the onstar emergency button and they had the cops there very quickly. Luckily everyone involved was ok! Apparently the person travelling west-bound fell asleep at the wheel and crossed over into oncoming traffic being east-bound, the way i was heading. Wow was that crazy!
