My Puppy’s Been Poisoned

Beverly Hartley’s 9-month-old Yorkshire terrier, Fidelis, was accidentally poisoned when, unbeknownst to Beverly, the gardener put down some poisonous snail pellets and little Fidelis — who barely weighs five pounds — found one and tasted it.
Beverly had just come inside with Fidelis when the puppy started walking oddly and tripping on her own paws. Then Fidelis collapsed.
Beverly was frantic. Her husband quickly called the vet as Beverly picked up Fidelis and ran to the car.
“The vet is only five blocks away and I had been there before, but suddenly I just couldn’t find the office for anything. I was borderline hysterical when I hit the OnStar button and asked for help. But the Advisor was just so calm and nice. I can’t tell you how much that helped. She calmed me down and within seconds had me going in the right direction. Turns out, I had passed the office and then made a wrong turn. She stayed with me until I arrived at the vet’s office. Thankfully Fidelis made a complete recovery.
“I don’t know what I’d have done without the Advisor’s help. I will never have a car without OnStar, ever. My whole family — my grandmother, my mom, my sister — we all have OnStar and we all love it.”
Help is always just a button push away
OnStar has partnered with Poison Control to provide assistance to subscribers in need. If subscribers have a poison-related issue in or around their vehicle, OnStar can connect them directly to Poison Control. With any poison-related issue, speed of treatment is the most important factor followed by effectiveness of treatment. Pets can be at risk in or around vehicles if they gain access to oil and antifreeze or food items that can be extremely toxic to them such as chocolate or nuts. Push the red OnStar emergency button and you’re automatically connected to a specially trained Advisor who will do everything he or she can to help.

When I bought my new Cadillac CTS in January 2010, it came with OnStar. I didn’t plan on continuing past the free year BUT after hearing and seeing all the praise about the service, I absolutely will continue after the free year! Keep up the good work!
